The Dojo House: The First Ever Biotech Focused House for Young Scientists
What is the Dojo House?
A 3-month long co-living community in the Boston/Cambridge area from June-Aug 2022, hosting 6-10 next-generation builders & young emerging scientists between 18-25 years old to meet, grow, and collaborate.
01 OUR WHY
Co-living hacker houses have been done in tech but currently, none exist that focus solely on biotech. The Topos House is a great example of brilliant scientists coming together, but is focused on late stage career scientists. There are many online communities in the biotech space, but especially after covid, in-person opportunities for emerging scientists have been scarce
02 WHO'S INVITED
Our mission is to invite people from cross disciplinary backgrounds building projects in wet lab based research, computational experience, business development and VC experience looking to expand their skillset and knowledge in different areas. We hope to produce network effects with the members of our house and hope that everyone can bring something unique to offer or teach.
03 OUR PROGRAMS
We hope to host office hours with our mentors, fireside chats, accountability sessions, and speed networking nights with experts from the Longevity field, Computational/Software for Biology, Synthetic Biology, and Life Sciences VC. We will also host weekly learning summaries from events held in the house, and working groups and writing pieces by the group on different biotech meta concepts (such as "The Future of Biotech Funding"). We hope to provide Biotech startup case studies, Debate nights & Brainpods. We want to help bring the Boston community together through networking dinners.
04 FINANCIAL AID
We hope to make this experience as accessible as possible and are distributing 50%, 75% and 100% scholarships for those who need financial assistance. Information about the house location and estimated costs will be emailed once an application is sent.
